It was shocking and heartbreaking. Over the years, we\u2019d shared a few stages with Charlie, and I was always encouraged by his boldness to speak truth and share the Gospel with conviction \u2014 even when it wasn\u2019t easy or popular. At one event, he even went as far as calling us his heroes, something that deeply humbled and inspired me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That night, as we performed \u201cValley of Decision,\u201d the lyric \u201cThis is no game, people have to die in His name\u201d suddenly hit me in a new way. I had to pause, take a deep breath, and let the Lord redirect the moment. What began as silence and prayer turned into two hours of deep worship. Somehow, through the grief, God began to stir something powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the days that followed, we started seeing signs of revival everywhere \u2014 churches filling up, people buying Bibles, spontaneous baptisms, and hearts turning back to God. It felt like a spark of something new\u2026 something holy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, I received a message from our friend Kapena, one of Hawaii\u2019s most loved artists and producers. He wrote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u201cThis past week at church, my uncle preached about how Charlie was similar to John the Baptist. The word planted the seed for this song in my heart. I wasn\u2019t sure if it was hitting too close to home, but God just put it on my heart and I couldn\u2019t even sleep. Then I saw your post about being friends with Charlie, and it blew me away.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I heard what he\u2019d written, it moved me deeply. Within hours, I added a verse, chorus, and a Dancehall rap. The Lord used that writing process to help me process the loss \u2014 and to turn grief into worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cMartyr for Justice\u201d<\/strong> isn\u2019t about politics or sides. It\u2019s about courage \u2014 the kind of faith that can\u2019t be silenced. It\u2019s about the hope that rises even when darkness tries to snuff it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlie\u2019s death reminds us that persecution and hatred are real \u2014 not just here, but all around the world. Yet our response must be different. We don\u2019t fight with anger or violence; we respond with prayer, love, and truth.
